our Mission
Slough Farm fosters growth, curiosity, and collaboration through the integration of food, the arts, and culture with farming, place-based learning, and a commitment to community.
Slough Farm
is a nonprofit educational farm and gathering place named for Slough Cove of the Edgartown Great Pond. The wisdom of our human and non-human neighbors inspires our work. We are proud to teach regenerative agriculture on our working farm, and to support our fellow farmers, food equity organizations, and creative communities.
We are committed to the integration of small-scale, sustainable farming and the arts through place-based educational programming. Facilitating collaborative exchange of skill, history, and perspective is part and parcel of our work. It is our hope that all our labors-- from weeding and harvesting shoulder-to-shoulder, to feeding our island community, to hosting artists-in-residence—aids this vision.

“They had such a WONDERFUL experience and thoroughly enjoyed the program. My daughter-in-law observed some of the program and was impressed with the quality and professionalism and of course she was especially pleased to see how much her girls learned while having an equal amount of fun! Their big smiles in the photos she brought home to us said it all. Thank you, and many many thanks to Sam as well.

“It was a truly meaningful experience, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for hosting such a special gathering. While I can only speak from my own grateful perspective, I am certain that many others share the same appreciation for the beauty and spirit of the event.”
