Andrew Kaneb

Andrew is a songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Brooklyn, New York. He began studying music at the age of seven, when he started taking classical violin lessons. After playing in various chamber groups and orchestras at the New England Conservatory, Andrew attended Princeton University, where he obtained a minor in music composition, and New York University, where he obtained a master’s degree in music composition.

Primarily a songwriter, Andrew records and performs under the stage name Kaneb Andrews. His music blends influences from classic rock, indie, electronic, classical, and other genres. He has performed at various historic New York City venues, including the Bitter End, Mercury Lounge, and Rockwood Music Hall. Andrew also enjoys composing long-format music for film and dance.  This is a family-friendly event, and a light dinner will be provided.

Kathy Chow

Kathy Chow is a Toronto based writer and editor Her work has been published in The WalrusTheNationPOLITICO Magazine, and The Washington Post, among other outlets. She holds a PhD in religious studies from Yale University and a master's in systematic theology from the University of Edinburgh.

While at Slough, she worked on "ON DISENCHANTMENT;" a creative nonfiction book that examines the overcoming of magic, myth, and religion by reason. The book takes up major instances of disenchantment in the era of the internet, including social media activism, politically pedagogical art, the ethics of consent, the valorization of vulnerability, and attempts at re-enchantment. right solutions—with clarity and care.
