Sarah Murphy

Director of Properties

Sarah Murphy serves as the Director of Properties at Slough Farm, where she oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and stewardship of the farm’s properties, including buildings and managed landscapes.  She has a passion for thoughtful design and sustainable practices, she works to create spaces that are not only beautiful, but functional, environmentally responsible, and long-lasting.

Sarah is energized by solving complex challenges and implementing systems that improve operational efficiency, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and deepen community impact. Sarah brings her extensive background in both the nonprofit and private sectors to her day-to-day, with experience in real estate and project, event, hospitality, and property management.

Off the farm: With roots in the West, Sarah has called the Island home since 2009 and has three young boys that love romping around on the farm. She holds a degree in Sociology and Spanish from UC Berkeley with an emphasis on equity. When she is not tending to farm projects and busy with her boys, she spends her time supporting youth serving organizations and community causes that are close to her heart.
